Anna's powerful photographs have allowed GFI to emphasize the very human and individual aspects of the issues we work on. Her images stand alone as works of art, but they also highlight the realities of people living in poverty around the world. I have worked with Anna on a photography assignment for a week in India during the peak summers. I must say that she is not only dedicated to her work but a very strong person to have endured all the hardships yet deliver high quality work. This is a new recommendation I received from The Brooke on LinkedIn for some recent work I did in Nepal:
I got a chance to work with Anna for a week during Nepal photography assignment. I must admit she is a through professional with a high degree of commitment. I remember she would carry a big bag of equipment to all the locations so that she doesn’t miss any action. Even when she was unwell during the draining trip she gave her 100 % effort. I really enjoyed working with Anna and got few handy tips on nuances of good photography. I wish her great success for her future endeavours.

Today I received a recommendation on LinkedIn from SPANA for a recent project I worked on in Ethiopia. Here's what they had to say:
We hired Anna to undertake a photgraphic project at one of our Ethiopian veterinary clincs. It was an important project for SPANA, with photos earmarked for the charity’s annual review, so a very specific set of skills and attributes were required. Of course we needed an excellent photographer – and Anna is certainly that. But we also needed someone who was able to work to a brief with very little management, able to work with our overseas staff and also develop good relationships with our Ethiopian clients. We needed a photographer able to work in challenging and difficult circumstances, while representing our organisation confidently and proffesionally to a range of stakeholders. Anna was the perfect choice, We were delighted with the results of Anna’s work – her images are arresting and creative. But we were also enormously impressed with her professionalism, tact and diplomacy. Anna Fawcus was both a wonderful person to work with and a simply great photographer. She had the unique ability to work within the culturally sensitive environment that our work takes place and still provide an intimacy and connection to the subject that was reflected in rich photos that told the story that we had never been able to accurately capture on film. Additionally, Anna brought a wealth of creative ideas and valuable perspectives to the work that she did so that along with images we also got rich insights, and approaches to our work and to the story that it embodied that we would not have gotten without her.
